Dr. Jorge Alexander Ortega, DBH/LCSW/MPA

Hello, and welcome to Ventana Tree Mental Health Services. My name is Dr. Jorge Ortega. I’m the founder and CEO of Ventana Tree Mental Health Services and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in California (License No. 88911).

I have a unique education/life experience compared to many colleagues in my field. For starters, I am a son of an immigrant mother and stepfather. I grew up seeing first-hand the struggles my mother and stepfather went through to become American. After graduating high school, I joined the U.S. Navy which provided me the opportunity to gain real-world experience and live the American dream that my mother struggled to provide me. Through my extensive travels worldwide and living in Italy for 8 yrs., I gained knowledge, skills, perspectives, and experience that serve me to this day through my participation in community service projects. Through these interactions, I was able to connect with people from various cultures, religions, ethnicities, and socio-economic status. Thus, these global experiences allowed me to realize that I wanted to do more. I concluded that what I really enjoyed most was the connections I was forming with individuals and groups and the meaningful exchanges that took place which not only enhanced their quality of life but also gave me a greater sense of purpose and connection. This is when I decided to pursue higher education in an effort to help people further.

This is when I decided to pursue higher education in an effort to help people further.

My dedication to helping people lead me to earn my Bachelor of Science in Social Science from Washington State University, my Master of Social Work from the University of Southern California, and my Doctor of Behavioral Health degree from Arizona State University. Throughout my career, I have worked in a variety of treatment settings that include non-profit organizations, government agencies, and private practice. My vast experience has provided me with the necessary training and expertise in treating adults and adolescents with Trauma, Anxiety, Depression, Grief and Loss, Life Transitions, Relational Problems, and Psychological Evaluations for Immigration Cases. I have received specialized training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Seeking Safety Therapy, Crisis Oriented Recovery Services Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Therapy, and Psychological Evaluations for Immigration Cases.

I’m passionate about what I do and have a proven track record of getting results for my clients. I write psychological reports for immigrants to help them improve their legal cases in the US. I work with many different lawyers across California and have a deep understanding of the immigration process.

Many of my clients who have roots in two different cultures experience chronic stress, anxiety, and depression. I work with them to help build a foundation for a life of meaning and achievement in their chosen society by explaining these struggles in the Psychological Reports.

I will be there every step of the way to help guide and support you.

My goal is to meet you at your current emotional state and guide you on the journey to your best self. I understand that reaching out for help is not easy and that you have likely been struggling for some time now. However, you do not have to struggle alone. I am here to help support you in an honest and authentic manner that provides compassion but also fosters growth. If given the opportunity, I feel honored to be able to hear each person’s story and join them on their journey toward healing, peace, and fulfillment in life. I look forward to meeting you!
